Beijing, 18 December 2025 – The International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS) officially launched its headquarters in Beijing.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by IUMRS leadership, including President Anil Kumar, Past President Osvaldo Olivera, Former Office Director B. V. R. Chowdari, First Vice President Guangxian Li , Secretary Samuel Chigome, and Treasurer Santi Maensiri. Distinguished guests from the Chinese Materials Research Society (C-MRS) included Honorary President Professors Lian Zhou and Boyun Huang, President Professors Bingbo Wei and Yuanyuan Li, Secretary General Zengzhi Zhang, Executive Council representatives Cheng Song and Yanlin Song, and Council members Changhui Mao and Jingfeng Li, among over 40 attendees.
The ceremony was hosted by C-MRS President Professor Bingbo Wei. Speeches were delivered by IUMRS President Anil Kumar (online), Past President Osvaldo Olivera (online), Honorary President Zhou Lian(online), C-MRS President Yuanyuan Li, Honorary President Boyun Huang, IUMRS Secretary Samuel Chigome, IUMRS Treasurer Santi Maensiri, and former Secretary Qiang Feng. During the ceremony, B. V. R. Chowdari delivered a speech and presented the IUMRS Headquarters financial report, while Guangxian Li, First Vice President of IUMRS and Supervisor of C-MRS, outlined the operational plan for the headquarters.
Prior to the main ceremony, Professors Bingbo Wei, Yuanyuan Li, Jianxin Xie, Guangxian Li, Secretary General Zengzhi Zhang, Vice Director Yinan Lai, former Secretary General Qiang Feng, B. V. R. Chowdari, Samuel Chigome, and Santi Maensiri attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the IUMRS Beijing Headquarters located in Techart Plaza, Keda, Beijing, and toured the new offices.
The IUMRS Headquarters officially completed its transition on 1 January 2026 and is now fully operational in Beijing.
